With the Wing Zero now being superhot and Herro in his infinate wisdom dropping the Wing Zero into the freezing cold ocean the Gundanium has now become very brittle. Although we know that Herro and Wufei eventually get in proper decent positions, we also know that the Wing Zero took damage before they did. As shown in this image the two mobile suits armour is glowing red hot. When it fell through the atmosphere with Altron im pretty sure they were in an unstable orbit and Wing Zero took damage because of this. With that being said im sure it still has some of the weaknesses of a metal, like if superheated and then rapidly cooled becomes brittle, and i believe this is the case with Wing Zero. I have a theory that i would like you share with you all.Īs ive come to understand it Gundanium is and i quote "While called an "alloy," Gundanium contains many non-ferrous metals and non-analyzed matter, meaning it is not a true metal". Either way, it's all to do with the damage. Explosion can either be caused from the Serpents shooting at it, or the fact that the Gundam was too damaged to handle its own TBR. Personally, however, I consider the EW versions to be more fanciful and pretty to the eyes, but are more or less inferior.Īs for topic on hand, seeing as the events take place the same, just replace WZ with WZC, it's pretty much agreed that it's the damage that the Gundam took that did it in. If by any chance that they ARE to be treated as different units, they are, at best, evenly matched. According to EW, they always been the Katoki versions, thus aside from the weapons, no matter what you say or think, they are both one and the same. Officially, however they are one and the same. My point is that that the Customs/OVA suits look and probably are more powerful, even if it's only slightly. He also loses the cannons on his bak but i don't think thats a factor. He may not have the flame throwers but his Dragon Fangs are longer and more armored. In a fight I see Altron (OVA) decimating the normal Altron. Zangetsu wrote:I would disagree with the statement that the're the same. That, and (not to state the obvious, but) had the Endless Waltz retcon had actually taken the fact that the five gundam pilot's MS looked different in the past (it shows Heavyarms Kai, Altron/Nataku, and Deathscythe Hell before they would have ever been upgraded into those forms) they would probably look much like the five "Katoki versions" for the Wing, Deathscythe, Shenlong, Sandrock, and Heavyarms (shown in their profiles.) But yes, plot-wise, they are the same MS. As for the Endless waltz versions, it's on a totally different level as they look nothing alike and have different features, for better or for worse. In fact, I had a similar debate with someone else about the Katoki RX-78-2 and how, if it was official and had been animated/mangatized (I just made that word up ,) would have effected the appearance of related suits, such as the GM and it's varients ( here's the topic.) I pretty much had a similar point to the one you present, in that they would have the same performance and features, just that they would be redesigned to look more "Katoki-ish" with more similarities to the Ka. With that much of a change, I don't care what official sources say, how can anyone say that it's the EXACT same suit, just with a different designer? Yes, katoki did redesign them to make them more interesting for Endless Waltz, and the according to how the retcon goes, they are the same Gundams used in the Eve wars, but Katoki really had many different things in mind for his versions, so much so that they are completely different from their series' counterparts. Wing Zero Custom doesn't even have a bird mode, rather it compensates by having those huge wings. He said that the this would be his last fight so Heero probably could care less if the Wing Zero got destroyed in the process. Probably on the safe/default setting of TBR didnt have what it takes to breech the base so Heero had the thing set on overload which isnt really safe after the first shot was fired. This is why it toke three shots break the underground shelter and T3 one shot to blow the asteroid (the asteriod could have been done with nukes as seen in Gundam Seed). You would need a colony filled with nukes or something like a Solar ray cannon or Colony laser to blow the shelter up. You basically got almost the same thing in EW + with shields. Thats why Zeon and EF developed a few of these WMDS specifically for destroying these fortresses. Because these fortresses were protected by thick bedrock other defenses, its very hard to destroy them even with nuclear weapons. The major bases in the One Year War were built inside large asteroids or deep below the surface of the Earth and moon. I'm sure the underground shelter/base was built similiar to its UC counterparts.
